So this year (2019) is my 'Think outside of the box' year, or rather get out of my comfort zone and do those sessions I have always been too scared todo. I am working on that list!! First up is the milk bath session!! I have been wanting to do one since they came onto the photography scene years ago!! They seem fun, pretty, and just plain sweet!! So on Jan 1, 2019 I ordered the pool and did research!!

Many people actually use whole milk for their milk sessions! Well I wasn't prepared to buy 11 gallons, to just try out if I liked the session or not!! So another photographers blog told how she used powdered creamer with warm water to get the creamy milk bath look!! So I did just that! I filled up the pool in my kitchen with a 5 foot latter on hand, a white sheet covering the pools solid color and tried it!!!

WOW!!! Talk about a fun experience!! Our 3 month old son LOVED it!! He splashed around and was all about it!! I added some oranges for decor and color, which turned out cuter than I thought, and did a rather quick hour session with him!! I had water on hand to add just in case it got too cold! (don't worry mommies and daddies I had a helper on hand and the heat was on to make sure he wouldn't get too cold!!)

I have to say I will definitely have to book more of these in the future! It was fun and it was just a nice break from outdoor photos!! Even thou the outdoor light would of been better than window light!! But I will take what I can get!!

Basic set up in my kitchen! Small pool, 5 foot ladder, window light and white reflector!!!

So the trick I found with using powder creamer is warm water. Once it got cool the creamer didn't want to mix up! So I added hot water mixed it in and allowed it to cool before the baby got ready to get in!!

Wanna know why I used Non-Dairy??

Ok, so the reason behind the Non-Dairy creamer!! Dairy has a weird smell to it when added to this much water! It smelled like musty old socks!! True story!! It didn't have a pleasant smell to it!!! I tried the dairy, then had to go out and get non-dairy and start all over!! Trust me dragging the pool out to empty it wasn't easy but it was a must!!!

But all in all, it was a very fun and welcomed session!! I hope todo more baby, toddler, and maternity sessions like this soon!!!

The final product!! Love that squishy face <3
